It really isn't a stawman argument. You have been specifically saying you will ditch android to do iPhone dev because of the low sales numbers on Android, but this article seems to suggest that this publisher is getting numbers on the same order of magnitude as you with his iPhone apps.
The point is you are sounding alarm bells about an App store that has barely been launched on one device, operating in 1 or 2 markets, on the smallest carrier in the US, and expecting some sort of performance match to the most popular single handheld device ever on one of the largest carriers in the world. Who in their right mind doesn't think there will be an impressive growth curve in App sales as the number of carriers and handsets increases this year? All that being said, as a fellow indie-dev-to-be targetting mobile platforms (nothing released yet...) I see your frustration. My point is your really need to set realistic expectations, this game is just getting started. To base your business decisions so quickly on such limited data in a new and emerging market would be rash at best. -j On Tue, Mar 10, 2009 at 9:46 AM, Sundog <[email protected]> wrote: > > I think this is a strawman argument.
