I haven't tried clearing my call log. If it doesn't have a confirmation
dialog, that's a bad UI implementation and would certainly be worthy of a
bug post on http://b.android.com, if it's not there already.

As a workaround, activate the pattern-lock. I carry the G1 in a pocket and
have not had a problem with accidental screen-taps, and I suspect the
pattern-lock is what helps to prevent them.

It's eminently possible. If so, you'd see results in the next T-Mobile
quarterly SEC report, as they'd probably have to take a significant charge
against earnings for a recall or massive number of returns, and those
sorts of things get disclosed to help stave off shareholder class-action
suits.

Once you've moved to another phone as being your main device, try doing a
factory reset of the G1 (or hard reset or whatever the G1 has) and see if
any of your symptoms evaporate. Some you might not be able to test (e.g.,
calls breaking) if you're not using it much as a phone, but others (e.g.,
lag) should still be apparent.
