In my experience, 1-star comments make a much bigger difference than that.

I think it depends whether the app is a high seller or not because of the 
way the Market app shows the last three comments (whereas the Market 
website shows the 3 "most helpful" by default). I agree that most users 
probably don't pay much attention to clicking through to see all reviews.

Let me explain...

So, if a user sees your app on the Market app, and sees three 1-stars 
(without doing any research) then I'm sure he will hesitate. OTOH, if he 
sees your app on the Market website then he will probably see comments with 
better ratings and so more likely to buy. If you have a high-selling app, 
then you will have enough new genuine comments (from Market *website*customers) 
to quickly push down the 1-star comment from the Market app 
page, and so Market app page sales will start to flow freely again.
