I hate to say it but that is really a douchey way to handle the issue. You have to realize Android is severely fragmented with several different iterations of the OS all over the place and you are bound to have a lot of complaints. Even with the release of ICS, it will be a least another year before almost all handsets will run ICS or we may have to wait for "Jellybean" to come out.
In the meantime users are facing a plethora of issues from shoddy or poor quality apps in the Android Market.It truly is a bug and virusfest, because Google has no quality control and screening process.
