I have a low volume app, and I always offer a refund to anyone who asks. More often than not though, once I ask them what the problem was I show them how to correct it, they end up keeping it and give me a good rating.
One person recently sent me an email asking for a refund, I immediately told him I would issue one, and then I saw he gave me a horrible rating without even trying to find out if he was doing something wrong. So I politely wrote him back what to do and what he should have said. Then I politely thanked him and told him that since he was past the 15 minute trial I had no obligation to refund. People don't realize that you can spend thousands of dollars building these apps, and they can ruin you with one nasty, out of place comment.
