I started to contribute, but failed and left. I don't remember the details, but I think it was something like this: When one grammatical rule covers the inflected forms of many words, and a handful of them need an exception to that rule, Per had a tendency to rewrite the rule for those few words without considering the many others. It was too easy to modify the rule and no regression tests for the other words or phrases that used that rule.
