People who can work a reasonable period of time each day, and thus be
assured of food and shelter for self and family, don't go seeking a
cause.

People with full bellies, clean water to drink, and a comfortable place
to sit or lie away from unfriendly weather, don't go seeking a cause.

Much of the world's poverty could be "fixed" ... but it what would need
to be done that makes it impossible.

1. We would need to convince those who see a 90% infant mortality rate
by age 10, that having more children isn't the answer to the
problems of being loved or being taken care of when no longer able
    to work.

For failures in this, please study China, India, and the USA.

2. We would need to find a way that would guarantee each person the
basics of life, without stealing 90% of the fruit of someone else's
labor. As part of this, we would need to convince the "haves" that
taking care of the "have nots" is not just a nice thing to do, but a
    necessity.

For failures in this, please study China, the USSR, and the USA.

3. We would have to convince everyone, including the poor, that each
person is a real human being with potential worth, and it is up to
us to figure out a way to incorporate that potential into something
which allows it to stand on its own.

For failures in this, look at the world we live in.

4. We would have to find a way to allow expression of talent, and
challenges which make life interesting enough to live. Money might
help in other areas, but it requires something more.

For failures in this, please study Oshama Ben Lauden and Bill Gates.

Life would be far easier if simple answers were equally simple to
implement.
