After changing the FLAC settings there is a clear difference in my setup through the digital output from the Squeezebox. [Lavry Black DA10, AKG K340 and Grado HF-1 headphones] Everything is less strained and more natural sounding. I had a friend over yesterday and he picked up on it right away as well.
FLAC settings aside, my Eastsound CD player still has a bit more resolution and more punchy bass than the Squeezebox when using each as transport only. Quite surprising. I'm thinking that I might be able to further close the gap by building a linear PSU or battery pack for the Squeezebox. :) -- philodox <'*' (www.stopthesealhunt.ca)> stop the seal hunt <'*' (www.stopthesealhunt.ca)> box clever, watch your system come together crazy weather at the end of my tether ::る:: heavily modded akg k340 < xlr out < lavry *black* da10 > headphone out > john grado hf-1 slim devices squeezebox /\ ultimate power cell 200 eastsound cd-e5 signature edition ------------------------------------------------------------------------ philodox's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5061 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22936 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
