Let me figure out: You state that the errors (all the errors) take place ONLY becouse whe inserted the AD stage of the recorder in the chain (I suppose you don't think could be the codec, the disk or else), without this, no errors at all.
This will explain for sure why ADM could dedect differences and if we assume you are rigth, will cut over any possible differences due to the DA converter, so NO DIFFERENCES AT ALL till the analog output. So if I eard differences, i'm wrong, is just impossible; if the recorder could too it's wrong, just becouse is impossible I could eard differences... ...mmmh.... I think is more likely that errors occours in AD AND DA, if you lock them, you only make them operate as one (means make the same errors), but STILL you have drift over the original clock and the one you will use to convert back the sound at the playback time, that is not in your chain at the moment (and - of corse - you are not measuring it)so you are NOT testing a real word situation. With this test, You eliminate the DRIFT Error (of the 2 clocks who nobody will ever listen to) and only confirm that is BIT PERFECT, but we already know this. -- marcoc1712 ____________________________________________________________ SB+, Klimo Merlino + Kent Gold, Monitor Audio Studio 20 Gold SE+, Klimo reference and DIS Interconnect. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ marcoc1712's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34842 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71321 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
