To be fair, Slim Devices didn't invent the digital transport. That
concept was already there, the idea or picking and choosing your DAC.

It would be fair to say that a lot of problems have been solved.
Everyone would agree transport+DACs are bit perfect and most would
agree that transport and connection related jitter have been solved
with the better DACs.

However, I think there was an opportunity for Slim Devices to license
their protocols. They could have become the new SPDIF. Imagine in-built
squeezebox-like hardware in every player out there. You don't need to
charge much for the license if you get the volume.
