So .. if I'm wrong .. then really neither the Touch nor the Transporter should ever have had an internal DAC close to the buffer that receives the data, and a clock that knows precisely what speed to run at; all along they should have had only a USB output so that folk could take that, convert it to s/pdif and only then put it into a DAC .. most with a clock that'll be PLL-ing all over the place??
