I'm a volunteer working with the Italian OpenOffice.org team. We are translating the documentation published on OOoauthors and we've noticed that some chapters available in the Published section of the site are still considered as drafts, like the following:

http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/published/gettingstarted/draft_pub/0110GS-GettingStartedWithBase.odt

Why have they been published in that section if they are still considered as drafts?

Sorry about the confusion. I am the person who publishes those chapters, and I have not been keeping them as up to date as I should this year.

They are "drafts" because they had not been final checked against the version 2.0 software, so there may be some minor differences between the chapter and the software itself. We published them as drafts so people could use them even though they needed final checking.

In fact the "final published" chapters in some cases are also different from the software because of very recent changes in the software, so the "drafts" are probably just as finished as the "finals".

I'm trying to figure out which texts to start translating and I'd like to concentrate on the final versions - where should I look for those?

It's possible that some of these may say "Draft" in the header. If so, that is my mistake in forgetting to change the header.

Please let us know if you find any errors or other problems. It is very difficult to keep up with all the changes in OOo!

Are there any guide lines we should follow to work on the translations?

Someone else might be able to answer that question... perhaps someone from the German team doing translations?
