Ken/Tarwin, Reading Tarwin's post again, it sounds like you guys might be using two different Collada exporters with Max. Ken is using the ColladaMax exporter:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/colladamaya/files/ But it sounds like Tarwin is using OpenCollada: http://opencollada.org/download.html So that's probably the reason why you guys are getting different results. Tarwin, have you tried ColladaMax?
