Don't be scared man :) Everyone was once a noobe . Now concerning the
triangles disappearance : you should make sure you don't have complex forms
with a lot of triangles being close.
Try to make your geometry mesh evenly triangulated all over . I would
suggest to watch few tutorials from EAT3D.com . They teach how to model low
poly models for games ,and you can really gain from that a lot for modeling
stuff for Away3D  ..
