Just so no one wastes time helping me troubleshoot, and in case there are any people as ignorant as I am: I'm able to get the model loaded using a single texture that I created with the 3D Paint Tool in Maya 2010. It saves out an image that I'll probably tweak in photoshop or something after all the elements are painted so I know what they are.
