I didn't know what "Exposto" was. This is what my friend wrote for anyone else that didn't know.
In the old days they had a place where people could leave an unwanted child. They could be run by the government, convents, charities, etc. There was a hole in the wall on a rotating contraption with a baby basket, you would put the baby in it & rotate so it would go inside & then cared for.
