Ack! I misspelled it again! I'm so sorry. It was Jacinto, NOT Janinto. I totally understand what you're saying about the spelling of the names. Jacinto/Jacintho or Marie/Maria or Jaquin/Joaquin. I wondered the same.
I do have the death certificate with those first spellings tho, but I get what you're saying. I didn't realize the death certificate wasn't as helpful. Thank you for the links. The first baptism link you gave me for Joao Linheras does show different parent names. But we have family photos and a different name for the mother of our John (Joao) Linhares. His mother is listed as Marie U. Jacinto. So do I have the right baptism link for My John (Joao) Linheras? Thank you for your patience.
