Shifting from first to second results in the feel of it going into gear, but upon releasing the clutch it freewheels. All other gears engage so he's doing a first to third shift to drive. I'm guessing he has a major problem (duh) and needs to seriously consider a junkyard trans, right? See: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/CandD_gy_f1_gs_d3.jsp I just put a set on my E30 M3 (17x8 wheels) and they are excellent, I think the reviewers in the above C&D article were spot on. As for where to get them, they should be available through any number of channels - I got mine from Tire Rack as the guys who repaired my wheels are one of their recommended installers. I actually like them even more than the PS2s I have right now. I had the GS-D3s on my 325 and they were EXCELLENT... until I got rear-ended and the car was totalled. :( But yeah, SERIOUSLY good tires. My most favorite set so far. At their price, they ought to. If you're not in the street racer mindset, the BFG GForce Sport are a great next tier down tire with excellent tread life and no noticeable difference in traction, handling, and road manners for a more reasonable price than the max performance models. I have a great little ball joint separator, Napa part number 3916, which worked great for the outer-to-inner tie rod ball joints, but the durn thing won't fit for the pitman arm attachment ball joint. Can anyone tell me the exact tool for this job? I will gladly buy it. I hate being stymied like this! Thanks for any advice.
