Anyone have experience with the Koshei's in 17x8.5 on the E36, 328? Setup
is Koshei's with ET=38mm, shoes are Khomo 255/40's. He's getting rubbing at
the back where the bumper sticks into the well. I haven't seen it, that's
the description I'm getting. Fronts are OK with the 5mm square shoulder
spacers, no spacers in back.
It would seem that we can contour the FRP to get rid of the rubbing, but
I'm just curious if others have run into this.

Kuhmo 255s are a big tire, especially on a street car. And yes you will get
rubbing in all sorts of places (inside, on the fender lip) depending on
camber and ride height. IIRC more so on the drivers side than passenger, in
fact depending on the exhaust you can get tire rubbing on the exhaust.

Not sure I understand the description of the area though. If he means the
bumper cover that wraps around then sides of the car then yep - it'll rub
until it melts away.....

Normal. Need to trim the plastic fender. If the car is lowered at all, he
also needs to beat the crap out of the inner fender at the top of the tire
until it is up against the outer body panel to get the extra 1/2in of room.

Sorry for the cross post, but I am sure somebody has a good answer for this.

I have a question regarding the dynamics of switching from a staggered
wheel/tire set up to the same size wheels/tires at all four corners for the
E36 M3. My 98 M3/4 has the staggered set-up of course, 235's on front,
245's on back. I believe BMW switched from the 235's on all four corners
for the 95 M3 to the staggered set up on later models to dial in a bit of
understeer. Is that correct? Will the car be more neutral with the same
wheel/rubber all the way around? Are there any disadvantages to switching
from the staggered set up? I was thinking of going with 245's all the way
around since it sounds like 255's may cause some fitment hassles with some
tires.

Well, that's one reason why I went for an 'old' '06 (R53) vs the 'new' '07
(R56)...
Still its a fun little BMW with a funky body :) ...

My wife's 97 Z3 is getting a soggy trunk when sitting in the rain. Not tons
of water, but enough to be soggy in there. The trunk seal looks and fees
like new (the car only has 40k on it and has always been garaged). I'm
thinking it must be leaking where the convertible top meets the car under
the rear window. Anyone BTDT on this?

Convertible top is sealed to the body with a metal strip, and butyl
tape. A very likely area for a large leak on an older car. Butyl tape
gets hard and brittle with age.

Not a hard fix.
