Anybody have any experience with the various brands of hi-flow CATs
available (Magnaflo Spiralcat, Random Technologies, Dynatech Powercat,
etc.)? I just had a custom exhaust fabbed & they damaged one of my stock
CATs, so we're thinking of installing some aftermarket units in their
place. I'm looking for something that flows well & can still pass the
sniff test without burning out in a year of track use.

Gents,
It appears that the son's E36 is a Valeo (XXX 1.744.561). At 101k miles, I
figure it would be a good time to change the regulator/brush assembly , but
it appears from the one picture that I can find and the confusing entry in
the Bentley that the Valeo part may not have contacts as would the Bosch
regulator. Is this true? Are the brushes a separate item which dictates a
new alternator?

A good weekend for my ’95 525I touring (E34), just replaced my front hubs
and upgraded the brakes to 740I spec with Ate Power discs. . I just
upgraded because I had access to the right dead E32 at the right time & I
like doing this sort of thing. Had done the rear brakes to E34 M5 vented
rears, now it’s a job well done. The car is up to E34 (US) 540I / E32 750I
brakes, which was the donor vehicle for the calipers (which were rebuilt).

As a result, I have a complete set of E34 front calipers with the mounting
parts, bolts and carriers for sale. There was NOTHING wrong with them, car
didn’t pull or make funny noises during braking
They will fit ALL North American version E34 525, 530 & 535 cars, sedan or
touring. They will NOT fit the E34 540 or M5. You can also use them for a
modest upgrade for the E28, using E34 disc brakes (this is a nice plug &
play fit) – but you will need 15” wheels.

If you want a pair of good, no nonsense used front calipers (complete set
only). I’d be happy with $65 for the pair plus shipping. I can get them in
a USPS flat rate box for a modest $9 for shipping (a great deal on dense
items like brake calipers).

Please contact me off digest.

The fronts also fit E36 M3 as stock replacements, or lesser E36's as an
upgrade with M3 rotors and brackets. They are the same caliper as the
M3, sans ///M logo.

Are they any cheaper from BMW than the "M" stamped ones?

I would like to buy a fleece pullover and perhaps something for my wife with
the roundel on it...the dealer wants one of my arms, and a leg (leaving only
one arm to put through the jacket) for this stuff. Is there anywhere else to
purchase this stuff? Seems a little silly to pay $185 for what is basically
an old 'members only' jacket with a roundel stuck on it.
