I have a sink in my garage. In chose plastic. I like
it because it doesn't dent/crack/chip when I drop
a caliper/alternator/contol arm in it unexpectedly.
Plus the plastic laundry tubs are BIG and DEEP.

I built my own formica countertop and sunk the sink
into that. The sink has held up better than the
laminate.

I'm using a kitchen faucet with a sprayer. The
sprayer is nice to, well, spray stuff.

I did the same for the same reasons. You also don't care much when
they get stained and stuff because they're, well, plastic.

Ditto.

I need to replace my helmet for an upcoming driver's ed event. I'll
be in Phoenix this weekend and was thinking I could save some money on
sales tax if I picked one up while I was there. Any recommendations
on places in that area that sell helmets?

Thanks,

dan

Any large motorcycle shop, excluding Harley, should have a good selection of
helmets.

Caution!
Not all helmets are created equal.
These (available at a bike shops) will likely be M-rated helmets (not to be
confused with BMW-M) and unless you're riding a motorcycle are not optimal.
Some organizing bodies for track events WON'T allow M-rated helmets, only SA.
Since SA helmets are designed to be used for vehicular racing, this is what you
should look for. That said, I prefer some M-rated helmets for eye port size
etc, but settled on an SA with a large eye port so that I could use it
everywhere. not to mention it was built for this type of use.
Check into what the DE event coordinators will allow as well as the
certification differences for fire and impact safety between the two different
ratings. If you think about the differences in a bike crash vs. a
car......(trapped in a burning car vs. eye port intrusion, sliding vs. repeated
impacts in the same location from a roll over, etc) you'll see why there are
different ratings for the specific application.

By the way:
Won't you have to pay AZ sales tax anyway if you buy it in AZ?? You could save
shipping costs though.

Cheers,
Chet

Surely, I do...

KMS does not use Meyle products. We don't use them because, at least,
up until a few years ago, they were the cheapest of cheap crap.

Meyle is the company that sold plastic engine fans that would throw
blades through the hood with no warning. Through a tech's face if he
was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Their bushings would last 10K
miles or less. Their arms would last no longer than their bushings.

Meyle has reputedly changed directions in the last couple of years. I
know of several reputable shops around the country that use their parts
whenever possible, claiming they are now the best that you can get, with
the bonus that they're cheaper than Lemforder (which is what we use).

I just installed a set of Meyle rear arms on a customer's X5 with full
disclosure, and a very good price, to the customer. He is going to be
our test bunny. If they are still OK a year from now, I may start
carrying their parts.

Spitting in the eye of the Gods by asking this (I don't need one now)... but
if somebody could recommend a good body shop in the Tampa area, I'd be
grateful.
