I have my cat back Supersprint SS exhaust for sale. It has the DTM tips.
It has been on my stock class E36M3 race car for around 25k miles.

It is NOT cosmetically perfect on the body (pics available on request), but
the tips are straight and true (if a little blue from heat -- it'll polish
out if you follow Rob's advice on the UUC website).

This retails new for over $1k at BMP. I am asking $500 or best offer (plus
shipping from 89144).

I recently changed to prepared class so I have a straight through exhaust
now and do not need this any more.

Cheers,

My 1993 525i has an intermittent check engine light
and a transmission program message. I’m hoping that
the transmission isn’t toast, but maybe that is too
much to ask for 220k miles on an automatic. It has
had a filter and three fluid changes in the last 90k –
the time that I’ve owned it. I’m at a loss on what to
check. It was running fine until it threw the light.

I was wondering if an electrical problem might lead to
this. The morning that it threw the light it started
fine, but it wouldn’t respond when I pushed the button
for the rear window defroster. I thought it was
really odd, but after I held it for a few seconds, it
responded. The check engine light blinked
intermittently on the way to work, but it didn’t show
the transmission program message until the trip home.
I warmed it up this afternoon and checked the fluid
level. It spit out three or four ounces of fluid, so
the fluid level isn’t low. What should I check?

How about the fault codes? You could throw a grand or two at the car,
or even replace the transmission, or you could pay an hour at your
favourite shop and have the fault codes read.

My first thought is you may have a voltage issue.

If that's the case and you have a local BMW dealer that offers CCA discount,
it would be worth a call. I tried online and they pretty much get retail
plus shipping, whereas the local BMW dealer sold me an unopened 20L jug for
around $115 with CCA discount. Pretty reasonable if you ask me.

Drove my E28 M5 on its monthly maintenance drive and heard a pop sound
from the left rear and the suspension back there started feeling funny,
wallowing over bumps, acting peculiarly around the roundabout that leads
to my house.

Parked in its heated storage, the left rear is lower than the right rear
and shiny fluid is splashed about the interior of the wheel.

I removed the wheel and the interior of the inner fender is lightly
covered with shiny fluid, as is the interior of the wheel.

There is no apparent leak at the pipe fittings, nor the body of the
shock nor the accumulator.

What fluid is this system filled with?

Anyone know a source for these shocks? Worldpac doesn't show any.

Car has 108K on those rear shocks, so I'll likely replace both.

Thanks,

Ed
