Anybody on this list going to be at Oracle Open World in SF next week.

If so, interested in getting together and telling lies about how fast
our cars are?

Alex,
Seems suspect to me unless the oil bar is mechanically crushed or some kind
of vacuum or siphon effect which I doubt the MB engineers would have
allowed.
However, it could be akin to the problems that the M30 motors used to have
where the banjo bolt would loosen and limit oil volume in the bar.

Just brought home a 1988 E30 Convertible today that gives the distinct
impression it could use some revitalising in the suspension area .

It isnt going to be a hot-rod , just a gentle cruiser .......so I wondered
if anyone out there has a cheap set of serviceable stock (or close thereto )
shocks for to sell (with RSMs ??) . Of course Billybobs or Konis would be
wunnerful but it isnt going to be a high-zoot mover . The owner prefers
cheap over performance .
Anyone out there converting from stock susp to a race-car and got a decent
set taking up shelf space ??

Could use the leather-boot around the 5-speed shifter too if you've got one
laid about ....again. 'serviceable' is the key word .

Who's had Conv (sport) seats recovered ? where ? price ?

Off-line emails pls ......

Bill P, Tennessee .

Any clues here where to begin tracing? The front bulb blinks
doubletime and the rear bulb doesn't blink. Removed the rear bulb,
the bulb is good. Changed the bulb anyway, still no blinking.

Confusing this is that the tow hitch light connector does blink its
LED indicating that the signal is getting current.

Any ideas?

Is this a E46?

E46 bulb holders suck. The contacts need to be cleaned (with
sandpaper/emery cloth), re-bent, and sprayed with contact cleaner
(Caig DeOxit for me). And check that the contact tip for the bulb is
still its original shape, not melted down to a flat nub.

My rears seem to be holding up fine but my fronts do this to me all the time.

If it's an e36 the circuit/connection in the tail light housing melts/burns
out. If you peer in there you will see the plastic that holds the connector
to the bulb housing is probably melted.

Subject: Gremlin 2: door switch that senses the door is closed, where is it??
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

The driver's door window won't stay all the way up, it moves down the
short increment as if the door was open.
This also triggers on the interior lights, and disables the electric
locks from unlocking the car.

The window is now a problem with it getting rainy as water comes in
through the small gap the window stays open. The wind whistle at
speed is also a nuisance.

Anyone know where the switch is? Not seeing it visibly anywhere
around the outside of the door or doorframe. My guess is there is a
fraction of a mm of wear, just enough to not trigger when there is a
slight amount of chassis flex.

tia,
Barry
