Style tweaks at: http://boost-sandbox.sourceforge.net/libs/xpressive

paragraph layout:
I do not agree with Reece.
Sans serif + block-format have a more modern look and feel.
(This was Rene's suggestion, not Reece's.) I agree with Joel that a line between paragraphs is a Good Thing.
links:
I have to agree with Dave that bold links are a bit too strong and I like
the hovering-underline of Eric. I also like Jeff's yellow background on
hover.
I tried the yellow highlight, but thought it was a bit tacky. I hope w3c (and Jeff) are not offended. :-)
syntax hilighting: Eric's tweaks are almost to my taste, except for the green comments.
Wow, I guess I'm alone on this one! :-o
I
agree with Jeff: #800000. I also agree with Jeff's comment on the
preprocessor being too bright. However, I'd want to avoid having too
many different colors, lest, it becomes too much like a christmas tree :-)
I'd suggest just lessening the brightness: #AF000E.
Done, and done.
Finally, I'd like
to see the the operators more visible like int, if, etc. I suggest
making them bold as well.
I have made this change as well for now, but I don't think I like it. Opinions welcome.
tables:
I like what Eric did on the tables. HOwever, I find the colors a tad
too pale. personally, I prefer the original Spirit tables:
http://www.boost.org/libs/spirit/doc/operators.html, for example.
I can live with the grey if the first line gets more emphasis.
Re: table headers: the background is now the same color as section headers and URLs, and the font color is white. It's bold all right. Maybe too bold. Opinions welcome.
icons:...
I wouldn't mind switching icons to new ones (such as those in
boost-book), as long as it draws nicely. That means using gifs.
png(s) don't render nicely on a colored background.
Boostbook's icons are more professional IMO, and I like that they are a tad larger than Spirit's, but they have that transparency problem. Anybody with a graphics editor want to touch them up?
Also in need of a touch-up is the "up" navigation icon. It is an arrow pointing up with a line across the top. To me, that suggests that it will take you to the top-most level, but it only takes you up one level. The line across the top should be removed. Joel?
I have addressed Rene's and Dave's concerns regarding borders by taking them out everywhere. An improvement, I think.
I have also followed Rene's suggestion and put a little more space above section headers than below.
I agree in principle with Rene's suggestion that blurb icons be to the left of the blurb instead of within the blurb. But when it comes to XML/HTML/CSS, I simply don't have the m4d skillz to do this easily. I'll continue to play with it, though.
Keep the suggestions coming.
