My Brewtus is plumbed in and there is a water softener in-line so my issues with scale are not so bad. The steam boiler is easy as you can almost empty it by turning the machine off when hot and opening the hot water tap. Then put de-scaling solution in a bottle, put the inlet hose in the bottle and turn on the machine. The brew boiler is harder as it's tough to drain.
