I'm beginning to sense that we'd all of us like to get on to other things and draw our latest list crisis to a close. To that end, I propose that we amend the etiquette guidelines by adding part of Erik Reuter's reformulation of Jeroen's proposed constitution to the Guidelines (under "we further agree that," replacing the last bullet), and then get on with our lives. Quoting Erik:
> 6. No one shall warn, remove, or ban any list Member without an explicit > list discussion and group decision, (i) except in the case of urgent, > time-critical need such as a large quantity of spam being repeatedly > posted. When a Member is unsubscribed without a discussion as allowed in > (i) above, the person doing the unsubscribing will immediately post a > notice to the list explaining what they have done and why. Except, because I am an incorrigible tinkerer I would rephrase it slightly, yielding: --- No one shall remove or ban (or issue warnings that threaten removal or banishment to) any listmember without an explicit list discussion and group decision, ETC. --- If we can all agree on that, then I think we should all promise to play nice and say a few devotional IAAMOACs and then remind ourselves not to reward any perceived slights or misbehavior with more slights and misbehavior. Finally, let's all get to reading Kiln People. Chop chop, y'all!! Marvin Long Austin, Texas
