If anyone is more interested in how much space a person needs, including infrastructure, office and light industrial space and so on, you can find out at http://lifesci3.arc.nasa.gov/SpaceSettlement/75SummerStudy/3appendB.html It comes out to a density of 15,000 people km^-2, which is pretty close to the figures being considered here. Rich, who thinks the whole _Space Settlement_ design study is interesting.
