after leaving Opion.  A few *months* later, I received a bill for more than
$5,000 -- for all the service since we launched Opion, and even for the
months after I cancelled.  Took me a while to figure out what had happened.
They couldn't explain why they had even allowed the balance to grow so big.
Well, the company I did collections for was a wireless provider. I got this question fairly often. The long and the short of it is that the wireless service provider is not responsible for policing your cell phone usage. Even if it was done in error, they may not know about it until you report a problem. When you are a provider with thousands of customers (or in my case, millions) the problems with one single account will probably never become apparent until the customer calls in to report it.
