Something like outsourcing, but not exactly. The principles
could apply just as well to internal customer/service provider
relationships. What if internal service providers were paid
directly by their internal customers?

This idea has intrigued me ever since I read Peter Block's
mindbending book /Stewardship/. I highly recommend the book.
