Funny, I don't remember that coming up in my catechism. I did not
realize you were Catholic, but I suppose it is possible you know more
about Catholic teaching than I do....(?) are you remembering this from
your childhood, or what?

God loves everyone, but the Catholic religion specifically states that
there are those that will enter into heaven, and those that are damned
to hell for rejecting gods' teachings and/or doing evil upon the world.
This is a fundamental tenent of the Roman Catholic faith.
The Roman Catholic Faith has it that Homosexuality is wrong.
Therefore if one is a Roman Catholic then this is a teaching of your
faith.
One is not using the "god" card any more than a Jew is using the 'God'
Card for not working on the Sabbath.
And if you respect other people's religions and the teachings of those
religions you would not refer to them as 'close minded' when the
teachings of that religion does not match your own.
God professes love for everyone, but that is hardly the end of the
story.

like a religous zealot. My favorite pastor in the world who married me
was very open to anyones beliefs and because he lived in the real world
he even told his kids about what it was and that it was those peoples
choice.
I get tired of when people play the GOD card as their excuse for being
closeminded and scared of something different. God loves everyone no
matter what, end of story.
Now where what you choose to do when raising your kids will help
determine how they turn out. You either say when 2 people in love and
married/civil union have sex and be honest. Or you say a man/woman and
you keep them living in the dark ages. You can only shelter a kid for so
long before they realize, hay mom is full of crap or she has no clue
about real life.
