For starters, not being cynical. Going from there, the Mercury, Gemini
Apollo and shuttle space programs. The St. Louis Arch, the Superdome,
Cahokia mounds, Moundsville, Poverty Point, Death Valley and an
assortment
of cultural and geologic sites. The Constitution and the Bill of
Rights,
the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, the Gettisburg
Address and other documents cronicling our freedom. The steam engine,
the
submarine, armored ships, the cotton gin, powered flight, cheap
automobiles
and other inventions or innovations.

These are but a few things I am proud of and what comes to mind when I
say
I'm an American.
