I'm going to argue that a CD player is not actually a distraction, but is 
actually the opposite of one.

Assuming your daughter listens to music and knows what she wants to listen to, 
she can just put in a CD and there, it's done.  The other option is the radio - 
where she will be constantly flipping through stations trying to find a song 
she likes.

I guess a counterpoint would be that with a CD player, she can put in her 
favorite song over and over and sing wild and crazy and dance around the car 
while she's driving, but i guess it depends on the driver :/
