If you are making something that is nothing better than any other
application then why make this application. If it is intuitive for user
X1 that uses application Y1 to do Z1 in way W1. Then user X2 that uses
application Y2 want to do Z1 in W2. So which W{1..2} are you going to
support?
This is happening with probably every action that is in any menu. If
something is intuitive this requires culture and preference. Why do you
think Microsoft designs Vista for a Toyota rider and not a Porsche
driver (MacOSX)? Because the target a different audience with a
different background.
For whom are we making this new program? What is our audience? What are
their expectations? Once again: please talk about this before you talk
about GUI toolkits...
