Hi Chris;
I did find the dogs in my yard early Saturday morning and called Animal
Control. They are part of our local police department. They said Animal
Control officers were off on weekends, and that I should just return the
dogs to the neighbors and they would make a note to Animal Control regarding
the situation. The neighbors were not at home (and didn't get home until
8:00 p.m. Sunday night) I called the police again and they sent an officer
to my house. He ask that I give the dogs water and he would try to get in
touch with the neighbors. To make a long story short, after drinking huge
amounts of water, sometime on Saturday the dogs dug another hole under my
fence and returned to their yard.
I have not heard from Animal Control and it is now 5:00 p.m on Monday. They
have not returned my calls. This is at least the fifth time in the last
year that I have turned them in to Animal Control. So far, no results. No
word from the neighbors either. My neighbors are boys aged 18 and 21 (their
mother died last year and left them the house), no father on the premises.
There are lots of other problems over there that I won't go into. I am
seriously thinking about moving.
