I have always been a supporter of mandatory testing. However, in order to
succeed, without losing valuable membership, it should be phased in
carefully. If you hit the breeder membership with.....complete testing of
hearts, eyes, patellae and hips....plus throw in the MVD protocol for good
measure, you will see breeders leaving the club in droves. If the club were
to start with requiring testing of hearts and eyes prior to breeding, it would
still benefit a lot of dogs and a lot of puppy buyers without scaring them away.
