I assume that by the "MVD protocol" you are talking about not breeding a
bitch until they are older...is it five years? You might be interested
to know that a seminar I went to last year I heard Dr. Hutchinson
speak. He is THE most respected reproduction expert in the U.S. - I
believe he has a web page for anyone who is interested. He says that a
bitch should be bred early and often and then spay her. The longer you
wait to breed a bitch, the more damage is done to her uterus by
progesterone, every time she come into heat. He is a fascinating
speaker. If you ever have the chance to hear him, go out of your way to
do it.
