I usually sit back and keep my mouth shut but how dogs are registered does
not dictate who gets health checked and who doesn't. CKCSC, USA members
love to make up negative stories concerning AKC only people (I've heard it
first hand) and there has been lots of intimidation at shows in this area.
Myra - you and I know that not everyone in the old club does what they say
as far as health testing and we also know that they use the "AKC only dogs
are not tested for health problems" to get people to buy their puppies.
I've had puppy buyers call me and tell me that ________ told them I don't
test my dogs when I have the papers to prove it. They also use the comment
that they charge more because their dogs are duel registered. As if that
made any difference to someone who has no intention of breeding or showing.
All pet people want is a healthy, well socialized puppy with good
temperament. Frankly, I hope CKCSC passes as many restrictions as they can
possibly dream up. When their members bail, then we all will know who tests
and who doesn't. Meanwhile, I will be glad to show you what the vets have
said about my AKC only breeding stock and I can show you OFA papers and
heart clearances and thyroid tests....etc. And Carol W......anyone who can
survive breeding Bull Dogs has my utmost respect. Bully for you and
Hank!!!! By the way Myra, does the person that is still breeding the
brother of your dog belong to just AKC?
