WOW!!  You don't?  Some of the most thoughtful and good dog breeders
have come from a horse background.  I would place a show Cavalier in a
minute with someone who had an extensive horse background.  They not
only understand animals, they understand type, soundness, structure,
utility, performance, and on and on.  My first "mentor" in dogs some 40
years ago told me that the more you learn about other breeds (she was
talking about animals in general) the more you will understand about
your own dogs.  this has been said time and again and cannot be stressed
enough.  Do not insulate yourselves - go forward and learn!
