Annette, I appreciate your input on all of this because I know you have been
breeding for a good while and know a lot more than I do. I need to ask a
question. We did buy puppies from different kennels in the UK, but we were
looking for specific dogs in the pedigrees of every puppy. We couldn't
exactly look at the type of the puppy because we couldn't see anything but
photos which only tell part of the picture. Now, we have our foundation
dogs, which all have either Caption or Linjato's Ace of Base in their
pedigrees, sometimes..well, usually....more than once and on both sides of
the pedigree. We think that we got very lucky because most of them are
lovely, lovely dogs. Now that we have our basic foundation, we are making
breeding decisions. In some instances we are able to use our own boys that
we have imported but in some cases, the bitch has specific issues that need
to be correcting and we are looking for boys who are known to throw these
traits. Is this an okay way to go about it, in your opinion? We didn't buy
from the same kennels, but we did buy into the same lines. We focused on
specific dogs because of what we knew about their heart health/history, and
know that we have the heart history that we wanted for our pedigrees, we are
starting to focus on breeding for type. I am interested in your opinion and
nothing you say will offend me, but I would really appreciate your input.
