Anathea:
As far as training for agility, my 3 year old cavalier loves it. We started
lessons when she was a year old, and she has done great. We are in it for
fun, but we do enter the trials. Maggie loves going to the trials as much
as she loves practicing agility. She gets plenty of attention from all the
new friends we have made, and she gets to visit with her "doggie" friends
too. I will be starting my second cavalier in agility in January - he will
be 7 months old and we will take puppy agility classes.

I am not sure how many cavaliers like to swim. My two hate being wet. From
the first day home, when I would take Kory out on a rainy day, as soon as
his feet hit the ground, he would run back to the door. He is getting
better, but these two definitely do not like rain. I have tried to get
Maggie to go in a wading pool when it is hot, and she jumps out as fast as
she can. At one agility trial when it was raining, she ran to the top of
the a-frame and refused to come down! I guess she was trying to tell me she
had had enough of running in mud puddles! We are trying to get them used
to wet weather by playing outside in the rain with lots of treats. They are
improving a little, but I don't think they will ever love it.

Good luck with your search for a cavalier. They are definitely the greatest
pets in the world.
