You would have to ask her when you see her next, but I think the bottom line is that ophthalmologists traditionally do initial CERFs at 8 weeks because that is the minimum age at which results are recognized by CERF. As far as I know, results on 5 week old puppies aren't admissible to the database. Most of us we need to know the results of the eye exam when we're usually making preliminary decisions on what to run on, because we usually start thinking about placing some pets at around 10 weeks. I think we just have to keep in mind that the results may not be 100% accurate at that time. If I knew the litter might carry genes for retinal folds/dysplasia, I would probably have a repeat exam done on my "keepers" a little later.. Leanne
