It is difficult to get the point across when talking of two separate breeds,
but the difference that we noted was that we were the ones asking all the
questions. We (the bitch owners) asked about hips and CERF numbers and other
related health questions. It was a difference of perspective. The owner of
the female was the one who did the major "vetting". The fact that the Stud
Review was a "show breeder" publication and the backyard breeder would not
look to it for a stud makes a difference. For example, how many puppymills
in the midwest would have access to a copy of either the CKCSC or ACKCSC
Yearbook or , if they did, call an advertiser in one of these for stud
service? There would be a weeding out done due to availability of the ad.
