Wrong, the American Cocker fanciers were a much larger group than the old
club. The majority of breeders were not known to each other and did not
belong to the national club. Only the most famous kennels were well-known.
It is beginning to be that way in the Cavalier world. I used to know who
everyone was, now I read show reports and see names that are completely
unknown to me.

It reminds me a bit of the lists. I know the names of the people who post,
but am startled when approached by one of the many list members who lurk
instead of participate. I don't know them, but they feel that they know me.
BTW, I don't mind this but do wish that others would speak up--- although it
does take a sturdy suit of armor at times, LOL.

All the best,
Susan Cochran
