Yep!  If I didn't believe the breeding would be of benefit to the breed I
would refuse.  If I couldn't have any information about the bitch then I
wouldn't be able to believe anything.

I don't know a show breeder of any breed who does not ask many questions of
the bitch owner.  It was certainly not that way in Irish Setters--even in
the mid 70s.  Definitely interrogated about the bitch, it's qualities--plus
OFA hips and CERF eyes were pretty much required by almost everyone.

However, I think anyone who reads Stud Review or Royal Spaniels is going to
expect to have questions asked of them--if they are a stranger to that stud
dog owner.
