Okay, I'm going to play devil's advocate here. Allow me to qualify the following
by saying that I am not yet a member of ckcsusa nor ackcs and that I'm a brand
new member of the UK Cavalier club. When I go to the shows put on by the other
two, soon, I will then become a member of those as well. So the examples I use
may not be good, I don't know if these issues are voted on by board members or
general membership. What sense does it make for pet people to vote on judges for
shows? If the subject of revising the standard ever came up, for example more
detailed wording on proper movement, I would think that the weight of the vote
should be carried by the breeders who are the ones that must breed to the
standard, not the pet people. Mending the split of the two clubs is something
that concerns breeders and the future genetic gene pool of the Cavalier and I'm
sure that there are countless other issues as well.
