True--but I did address that.

I have not seen a puppy of mine not turn out because of *incorrect feeding,
exercise (too much or too little) or general lack of care or heeding of
advice on the part of the new owner* once in 26 years! I suppose it is
possible, but it is SO unlikely to happen and if it did would happen SO
seldom, I would recompensate the purchaser regardless. Low risk factor
here.

True, but I still expect the owner to get what they paid for. I simply
can't imagine I wouldn't have some type of clue that an owner would be so
*bad* a puppy wouldn't turn out due to lack of proper care! Possible, but
highly improbable. Low risk factor again.

I do have a statement that if the dog is more than 25% overweight, all
warranties are null and void as there is no doubt in my mind that an
overweight Cavalier will succumb much earlier to MVD than one in proper
weight. Unfortunately a great number of my pet puppies end up at least 25%
overweight, some 50% overweight--even when I board them and tell the owners
they are overweight! I guess you could say my warranty is null and void for
many of my puppies. However, after 26 years, I have yet to have a single
puppy die from MVD at 6 or 7 years of age so maybe it doesn't matter that
much! Low risk factor again--so I will warranty the puppies.

When all is said and done, it will be worth the one or two puppies I may
need to recompensate for over my breeding lifetime where the owner was the
one at fault. It gives me peace of mind--and probably peace of mind to the
new buyers as well.
