Donna:
My last batch of assessments were late due to no MDS nurse working with me for past 6 weeks. Just caught up this week because we hired an MDS nurse in the last 2 weeks.
The facility I worked at before this one had the MDS coordinator walk out at lunch & never come back because she was 3 months behind. Then I was asked to assume coordinator role & I never was able to catch up.  It is my experience that you need someone to do the back assessments while another person keeps up the present schedule. Then the facility can choose to discard the extra help once you are caught up.
So you are not alone.

I was wondering if any RNAC's would care to share if any of you ever submitted a late assessment. According to my administrator, I am the only one she has ever heard of who has! The ones she worked with previously were perfect. Maybe she is right, I am just asking.
