If your facility has a daily standup meeting (I think many facilities do). I would certainly plan my day to make it to those meetings, it can help you keep informed and it may help you to determine if anyone has had a possible SCOC that may need to be evaluated further. I have the luxury of setting my own hours depending on my work load but  9:30 â 6:00 usually works out for me.  Until you get settled in your job, I would ask for flexibility with your hours.



Yes, the facility and staff are all new.  We're just getting to know one another.  In fact, as the skilled unit isn't open yet, we're still in the planning stage.  As I said before, my superiors aren't MDS-savvy.  I know they have a huge knowledge deficit, but at least they aren't jaded LOL!    I've been an MDS Coordinator since '95.
