There is an easier way to create a Mac boot diskette with a PC that involves
only two steps and needs no Mac. You only have to:

1) UnStuff, unBinHex, or unZip (whatever applies) the image file, if
stuffed, binhexed or zipped. There are PC versions of some Macintosh
utilities, including StuffIt 5. Once you're done, you will get a single file
of *exactly* 1,440 Kb. If what you have initially is a 1.440 Kb file, you do
not need to follow this first step.

2) Write the image to a diskette using a disk image tool. I love RawWrite
for Windows - its small, very simple and easy to use and free. You can find
it at http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ .

Of course, this procedure only works for 1.440 Kb image files. Because of
differences in the diskette hardware of the PC and the Macintosh, PCs are
unable to create or even read 800 Kb Macintosh diskettes. If you need to
create such a image, you will need to transfer the file to the Macintosh and
une it to dump the image to a 800 Kb. This means that having only a PC, it
is impossible to make work a non-Superdrive Macintosh (SE and bellow).
