I pour it into a wire mesh colander and then rinse it in hot water to get all of the grease off the meat. If I need to put it back in the pot afterwards I also rinse out the pot in hot water and dry the outside before returning it.

THe one about separating eggs and browning ground beef. It is much appreciated. I have another one, when you brown meat, how do you safely drain the fat or grease? I've never done this myself, and wondered if you had any suggestions. Thank you for any help you can provide.
